About The Honey Hut

Founded in 2012, The Honey Hut is a family-owned organic farm with one goal: to provide Maple Grove, MN, with the best raw, local honey and pure maple syrup. Through our honey production, we actively work to help the bee population and pollinate our organic crops. With 14.5 acres of farmland, our products are created using trustworthy, sustainable practices, so you can be proud of the food you eat. The Honey Hut’s legacy goes back further than its founding. Born and raised in Plymouth, Ryan Denny, one of our owners, had a dream since he was young of owning land. As a child, all he wanted was a farm of his own where he could soak up the peace and quiet of nature. Fast-forward to when Ryan married his better half, Tanya. Together, they chased their shared dream of owning a family farm. Over the years, our little family grew by four— with our eldest son and triplets! It was then that we knew we wanted to raise them with the values we cherish. We wanted to show our kids what it means to put family and hard work first. So, we sought to finally purchase an undeveloped plot of land – the last active farm in Maple Grove. However, we weren’t starting from scratch. The previous farm owner started theirlocal honeybusiness on the land. With phenomenal wildflowers, native plants, flowering shrubs, and trees, it was the perfect place for supporting pollinators. Plus, with school groups and families consistently touring the farm, the community was tightly knit to the old farm. Rather than starting from scratch, we chose to continue its legacy and grow it into what it is today. Since then, Honey Hut has continued to remain the last farm in Maple Grove, working diligently to deliver delicious, sweet products to our local customers. Hi, we’re Tanya and Ryan Denny – Welcome to our little slice of life!At The Honey Hut, we are more than just owners and operators. We’re a family. We take pride in beekeeping, tapping maple trees, and growing organic crops on the last working farm in Maple Grove, MN.  Our family includes our son, William (2016), and triplets, Jackson, Calla, and Robert (2018). This personal touch is what makes The Honey Hut more than just a farm – it's a home. When you step into our farm, we hope you feel the sense of community and love that we foster in our family and our business. Every corner of our farm, every product on our shelves, has been created with the same care and attention that we give to our own family. To us, The Honey Hut isn’t just about making a quick profit. Instead, it’s about building a business and community throughlocal hive honeythat can be passed down and enjoyed for generations. Our beekeeping and honey-making processes are as pure and authentic as our products. The Honey Hut practicesethical beekeepingso our bees remain happy and healthy. We interfere as little as possible with their natural behaviors, allowing them to build combs and manage their colonies stress-free and manipulation-free. We also ensure that our bees have plenty of native pollinator-friendly plants on the land, which provides them with diverse foraging options as they roam. Finally, we harvest ourlocal honeyand honeycomb sustainably. We collect the products in moderation, ensuring that the bees have enough honey to sustain their hives. In addition to honey bees, we have hundreds of maple trees that we tap yearly formaple syrup, acres of organic fields & flowers, and livestock. Situated next to nearly 60 acres of wooded land owned by the Three Rivers Park District, our property also welcomes frequent visits from wildlife, including deer families that inhabit our woods and dozens of wild turkeys.
