Goats
French Alpine goats
In March of 2022, Jase and Emily Tischer purchased a 4.5-acre private farm a mile and a half from the heart of Downtown Cary. Growing up in the city, they had no farming experience but were excited for the adventure. They were quickly thrust into caring for animals, tending a large garden, and learning about farm life. The Tischers have embarked on this farm adventure (and all the shenanigans since!) with their children, Allison and Cade. Allison spends her days spoiling the animals and helping with farm chores. Cade enjoys as much time on the farm as possible when he is home from college. Over the past two years, the farm has expanded to include a community of people passionate about supporting small farms and learning more about the importance of agriculture in North Carolina. Education, building community, and partnerships with local businesses have become the building blocks of the farm. The farm was lovingly named after their giant goat, Stoney. Unfortunately Stoney recently passed away from an aggressive form of cancer but he will forever remain the heart of Stoney Acres Farm.
