About Restoration Fields Farm

Restoration Fields Farm: Our Story When 2020 began and grocery store shelves emptied of basic goods, we had a moment of clarity: our modern food system was far more fragile than we realized. So, like many before us, we planted a victory garden. Hidden away in a borrowed space—just in case of an apocalyptic zombie invasion—we grew more than just food: we planted the seeds of a dream. That garden overflowed. We had more produce than we could eat and no plan for what came next. A few Facebook posts and a makeshift farm stand later, we found ourselves with a small but loyal following. Encouraged but practical, we returned to our seasonal candy company—Cowboy Toffee Company—our beloved California-born business that had brought us to Texas in the first place. In 2018, we settled into a two-story brick building in downtown Ranger, Texas. It became our home and the headquarters for Cowboy Toffee Company. Farming remained on our hearts, but we weren’t actively searching for land—until, by sheer providence, something remarkable happened. A beautiful, historic red brick schoolhouse from 1919, surrounded by two untouched acres, suddenly became available. We hadn’t been looking for it, but it showed up at the perfect time. While we don’t live on the farm itself, it has become the heartbeat of our vision. As we stirred toffee in our kitchen, we couldn’t help but imagine what that land could become. My parents—our tireless cheerleaders and partners from 1,500 miles away—fell in love with the schoolhouse too, and together we made it a family endeavor. We're restoring it by hand, piece by piece, inside and out. Today, Restoration Fields Farm is more than just a piece of land—it’s the foundation for something much bigger. We're building a destination: a micro farm, retreat, and event center designed to celebrate sustainability, creativity, and connection. In 2024, we were honored to receive historical designation for the schoolhouse—an official recognition of its architectural and cultural significance to the community. The schoolhouse will soon house nine beautifully restored boutique hotel rooms, inviting guests to experience rural life with a touch of historic charm. We’re developing the property into a space for weddings, farm-to-fork dinners, agritourism, photography and videography, educational workshops on no-till farming and sustainable flower cultivation, and indoor and outdoor concerts. Brides will be able to pick flowers directly from our gardens. Guests can learn to grow food, take part in seasonal experiences, or simply walk the same halls generations of students once did. Our mission is to offer a holistic and immersive experience that reconnects people with food, land, music, and meaningful celebration. Every vegetable we grow, every flower we harvest, and every event we host is rooted in our core belief: that the land can be both beautiful and bountiful, and that preserving history and healing soil go hand in hand. We host a weekly market on-site every Thursday, May through October, from 5–7 PM, featuring our produce, flowers, and a growing family of local vendors. No shipping, no shortcuts—just honest food, face-to-face connections, and a celebration of all things local. By supporting Restoration Fields Farm, you're not just buying better food or booking a beautiful venue—you’re helping to preserve Texas history, empower sustainable practices, and strengthen our rural community. From seed to stand, from schoolhouse to sanctuary—thank you for growing with us.
