Mixed Livestock Farm
Serving the Atlanta community with organically grown produce, local meats, breads, and goods year-round.
Northside Farmers' Market is a local farmers' market in Atlanta, Georgia.
Bringing good people and good food together since 1995. The Morningside Farmers Market has its roots in a former farm cooperative that started with Cynthia Hizer’s herb garden at the old Atlanta Waterworks in the late 1980s. In 1995, Hizer and business partner Ann Brewer, founders of the Georgia Grown Organic Produce, a co-op of 30 farmers, took their co-op in a new direction. While originally designed to serve seasonal produce to local chefs, they had a new idea, and they asked their farmers to bring extra produce for a market to be shared with the public – not just local chefs. By the second week, it was so successful that the farmers wanted to start selling on their own and the Morningside Farmers Market was born. Learn more about our special origin and the history of Atlanta farmershere. Now, decades later, many of the same farmers and partners are still with us along with a newly forged group of farmers and artisans, all proud to be serving the community with the highest quality in fresh, local, and organic produce. "The farmers selling their produce are all super friendly, and extremely helpful when it comes to my shopping. They explain what certain fruits or vegetables are if I don't know what they are, and they share fantastic recipes." — Regular Market Shopper You have a deep history with the Morningside Farmers Market, tell us about that? The market is very important to me. I got to meet Ann Brewer, a hero of organic agriculture in Georgia, at Morningside Market. She pointed at me and said I should showcase garlic for my demo; it was a watershed moment to me as a chef. It was the first market I did a cooking demo at when I was building restaurant Eugene. The market taught me about community and really connected me with the farms and artisans of Georgia. Coming to the Morningside Market is coming home. -Linton Hopkins, Chef and Owner of Hopkins and Company
