About Main Street Pastures

It was always a dream of ours to have our own small farm and raise our own food. However, we did not expect to grow into a local food destination for pasture raised proteins, and other local products.  Chad grew up on a dairy farm and his parents allowed us to purchase 80 acres in 2010, and so we started grain farming with the help of his dad and brothers. In 2014 we moved to our current home with 6 acres and started with livestock, it is now about 30 acres at the main farm. We started raising calves purchased from neighboring farmers, and bought 12 chicks the first year, and now our pastures are filled with cows, steers, pigs, lambs, turkeys, and chickens.  Our 4 children play a significant role at our farm, assisting with daily chores, farmer’s markets, and managing the farm store.  We love spending time together tending to the animals or taking a ride to check on pastures and crops. We believe in knowing where your food comes from and how it’s raised. We practice regenerative agriculture, which includes no-till, cover crops, plant diversity, crop rotation, and adaptive grazing.  Regenerative Agriculture keeps soils healthy by increasing the microbiology in the soils, reducing fertilizer and chemical use, increasing water infiltration, and lessening soil erosion.  Using these principles, we grow the grains used in our feed rations. We love watching the cattle graze on green pastures and chickens scratching for bugs and seeds. We invite you to come to the farm and see the animals grazing, insects chirping, green pastures, make the connection to how your food is raised.
