I own a small farm a beautiful eight mile drive north from Weatherford, Tx. I raise dairy goats, free range laying hens, free range royal palm turkeys and Pyrenees-mix livestock guardian dogs. I intend, in the near future to begin raising dorper sheep to sell as lambs and for meat as well as ducks for eggs and meat. I may also start raising meat chickens but that will most probably be for my own consumption unless I detect a market for them. The royal palm turkeys are a beautiful plumed, medium-sized (10-15lb) bird which I will sell for Thanksgiving or, as my flock becomes self-sustaining, as chicks or pullets. I can sell goat's milk in quart or half-gallon portions provided the containers come back to me. I am currently making about 1.5 lbs of a fresh cheese/week which I think you will find extraordinary. I make three different seasoned varieties or you can have it plain salted. I can sell approximately six dozen eggs/week at $3.50 per dozen. These eggs are fresh, large, brown, free range and taste so much better than eggs from an anonymous grocery store.
