About Flowering Tree Farm

Flowering Tree Farm is a twenty-acre family farm recently relocated to Oxford, MS from New York’s mid-Hudson Valley. We strive toward regenerative and symbiotic agriculture that improves the life of the soil, plants, domesticated animals, wildlife, and humans. We work together to create a healthy habitat that we can share and improve. To do that we start with the soil because, as they say, it is where we all come from and it is where we shall return… but it also is what feeds us, what heals us, and what makes us whole. If we can heal the soil, we can grow healthy plants. If we (and our animals) eat healthy plants, we create healthy creatures and reduce disease. When we first had our soil tested here in Mississippi it had an organic matter content of one percent and the pastures were thin and weak. Healthy soil has an organic content of around three percent with the best soils testing closer to five.  Our goal, through the use of the animals, organic compost, and regenerative practices, is to get the organic content of the soil up to five percent along with building a healthy soil biology which will allow us to grow healthy foods without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.  If we grow plants in healthy soil, we create strong plants that are disease and pest resistant. Another goal of our farm is to create community. Eventually we would like to have a farm where families can come and get much of their regular food items and that we all learn to eat with the seasons. Eating locally and seasonally reduces all of our carbon footprints and can also be a much healthier diet. As we get to know our land and community we’d like to grow into a CSA (community supported agriculture) farm. There is not a large profit margin in trying to build a farm from literally the ground up so we’re supplementing our farm by making the soaps, beard balms, and deodorant along with the Flowering Tree Farm apparel. Know that your purchase of any of these items helps us build our dream. info@floweringtreefarm.com(662)707-0557 All images © 2012-2024 Flowering Tree Farm, LLC, All rights reserved.
