Our Story

At Evergreen Events, our mission is to create unique and memorable experiences that showcase the best of local food and art. We want to work with the leaders of a neighborhood to create a gathering place for their community as well as a venue to support the growers, makers, and do-ers of the region. We strive to make events that are built to last and that have a positive impact for both the vendors and the shoppers. When you shop at producer-only farmers markets or art fairs, you support local families and their businesses. We know what that kind of support means for the farmers, bakers, and artisans of our region. We’ve seen producers and customers develop meaningful relationships that go deeper than any other retail transaction. We want to bring this to you. We truly believe that shopping this way enriches our modern lives. It also helps keep our local landscape and economy green and healthy for the next generation of friends and neighbors. Jon’s most recent farmers market experience was as the Program Manager for Farm to City, a Philadelphia company devoted to uniting rural and urban communities through good, locally grown food. For over five years, Jon managed Farm to City’s network of fourteen weekly, outdoor farmers’ markets. Jon began his career in local food at The Food Trust, where he spent four years managing some of the oldest surviving markets in the City. He’s also worked as a marketing team leader for Whole Foods and helped open a restaurant based on supporting the local food and beverage chain. He currently works as a culinary stylist for QVC. Ben Bergman owned his own farmers market company, Greener Pastures, for four years. He counts as his credits managing the Rittenhouse Farmers’ Market, the largest open-air market in Philadelphia, as well as 15+ other markets in Philadelphia and Montgomery County over the past 15 years. Ben is also credited with the founding of the Ambler Yards Beer Garden, the Jenkintown Night Market, and most recently, the Jenkintown Holiday Market. He currently works as a Community Manager at Penn’s Treaty Coworking in Fishtown.
