Gail and Greg Smith helped form Ho’oulu Community Farmers and Artisans Market with our Founder Kumu Keala Ching. The market is now in its 14th year! Since then, Gail & Greg began their Earth Matters Farm and grow 100% Hawai’i island grown hemp and produce. Find them along with all our BI vendors every Wed and Fri! The Big Island Ho'oulu Market is located in the beautiful Keauhou Bay of Kailua-Kona. Our market sets up each Wednesday and Friday (9am-2pm) on the front lawn ofOUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa. Come visit our farmers and artisans market to support your local kaiāulu ("community" in Hawaiian). Open every Wednesday & Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. By supporting and purchasing from one of our 'Ohana Vendors at The Big Island Ho'oulu Market, you support local farmers, artisans, craftsmen, creators, and families. Your dollars help to perpetuate a vital part of our island's economy. By shopping locally every Wednesday and Friday at our farmers market in Keauhou Bay, you can reduce the amount of importing and give gifts from the island. We are very proud to be 100% Big Island made and grown. In Hawaiian, Ho'oulu means "to grow", and we are honored to be one of the longest-standing Wednesday and Friday Farmers Market in Kailua-Kona. The Big Island Market features 100% Big Island made, grown and created products.  Fruits, Kona Coffee, art, value added products, handmade crafts, music, and more! We like to call ourselves "The Gallery on the Green" We have a tradition at our market to open and close the markets with the blowing of the conch shell or the Pū. Hawaiians used the Pū to communicate and mark beginnings. The Pū is always blown during the day to invoke goodness.  With respect we continue this tradition and now Jai fromGauranga Livewill be sounding the Pū. Please join us at the start (9am) and the end (2pm) of each market to hear the sounding of the Pū! We invite you to listen to live bands play beautiful music on our lawn. We have shaded areas with tables and chairs to enjoy your grinds!
