Jonathan & Deb Berger 8200 Lattasburg Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691 In case anyone is wondering: regardless of the information you see in the press, real or false regarding cattle vaccination and government mandates, we have not and will not be injecting our cattle with any m RNA type vaccine. We recently sold off our cow herd so that we can utilize our limited land resources raising more calves to market size rather than feeding an adult cow all year long to produce one calf. Finding calf producers that are 100% grassfed and use no hormones, antibiotics etc. with the proper genetics for finishing on grass alone takes some effort and we very much appreciate their commitment to clean and sustainable farming. This summer when we bought calves they averaged 506 Lbs. live weight. The rapidly increasing price trend for feeder calves continues to affect both you and us. We had to pay $1 per pound more for the calves than we did in 2024. As a small operation we again cannot absorb that financially so you will see it reflected in our 75 cents/Lb hanging weight price increase beginning 1/1/2026. This does not account for any other inflationary pressures. What we are also going to continue to add the 3.5% that I am charged for the convenience of credit purchases. This includes the invoices I send via email using the PayPal system. I do not have the ability to take payments via phone. For the purchaser to avoid that charge there are several options. 1. Zelle - most banks have it and it is fee free and easy to use 2. Venmo - if you make sure "Goods and services" tab is switched off after entering the amount to pay I will not have a fee charge 4. old fashioned check in the mail Our beef cattle are 100% grassfed to finish and we harvest the spring flush of grass to feed in the winter after the animals finish their last grazing pass. Doing that gives us the ability to schedule beef slaughter throughout the year. We never feed or inject our cattle with any growth promoting substances and the beef you buy is entirely from your animal, no blending of fat and lean "trim" from multiple sources or animals which is a common practice even in high end brand name supply chains. Ifyou are would like to get our 100% grassfed beef please email us (via the "Contact Us" page, not just adding your name to the email list for periodic updates) so we can answer any questions you have and get a deposit if you decide to get on the schedule. We have no on farm store for retail sales and conduct no Sunday business Located near Wooster, in Northeast Ohio, Green Vista Farm provides 100% grassfed beef along with non GMO, antibiotic and ractopamine free pork throughout Ohio, including the local communities of Medina, Cleveland, Akron - Canton and South to the Columbus vicinity. In an effort to help keep our offerings available to you, our customers, and also help our local pig growers, we have initiated what the big companies would call a "loyalty rewards program". If you purchase a portion of beef, we will apply a credit to you towards the cost of a like portion of hog (whole beef=$100 towards whole hog, half beef= $50 towards half or whole hog). We know that food costs continue to rise, so hopefully this can play a small role assisting families that are seeking to include high quality animal protein in their diet. The other endeavor we are pursuing is to bring a consistent price back to the small, sustainable family farms which this program enables us to bring on board. These farmers are already caring for their animals in a manner Green Vista Farm considers extremely important. Our protocols prohibit the use of ractopamine (a central nervous system stimulant used to promote lean muscle growth) or subtherapeutic antibiotic use. We also mandate feeding entirely GMO free crops to their hogs. This helps to ensure they can realize a fair and consistent return for their good efforts. We take orders all year long for beef and pork. Call if you would like mor

They met while attaining bachelors degrees in agriculture at Ohio State University. After 14 years of dairy farming, Jonathan decided to follow God's lead and pursued a career which allowed more family time. While actively engaged in farming, his concurrent 5 years work experience in nutrient management at the local soil and water office enforced in him the tremendous value of grasslands in agricultural land conservation and sustainability. With Deb's continuous support and their childrens participation, Green Vista Farm Grassfed Beef became a reality. While all holding other jobs and handling responsibilities found in any home with littles ones around, the entire family has some level of participation in the family farm. David, the younger son is taking on more responsibility in the day to day operations of the farm. Daniel, the older son, assists with all technical aspects of the business while Jessica, the oldest, is the primary creative marketing director.
