About American Grassfed Association

Dairy farm — 100% grass-fed beef, artisan bread, bacon

Our Story

Grassfed producers began meeting in early 2003 with partial funding from the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union Cooperative Development Center. In 2006, when the USDA introduced their definition for grassfed, AGA's producers and board decided to develop a more stringent standard. The AGA certification program and standards were introduced in 2009 and have since been recognized as a leading standard for grassfed meat and dairy production, as well as pasture-based poultry and swine. The American Grassfed Association is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
